Pastor John Flamme was born in Rockford, Illinois. He graduated from Concordia Teacher's College in Seward, Nebraska in May 1984. After teaching art and journalism for three years in Deshler, Nebraska plus one year in Orlando, Florida, he enrolled in Concordia Theological Seminary in Ft. Wayne, Indiana in the pastoral ministry program, graduating in 1992. He was ordained on July 26, 1992.
He served his vicarage year at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca, Minnesota in 1990-1991. Pastor John served two years as a missionary in Quebec, Canada. He then served as Interim Pastor at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Indianapolis in 1994. He and his family came to Concordia in 1995. The Pastor has faithfully served the members of Concordia Lutheran for eighteen years.
Pastor John and his wife Beverly Ann live in Greenwood with his daughter Faith. Beverly Ann is a Clinical Research coordinator working for Indiana University. Pastor's daughter, Faith, is a college student at IUPUI. Pastor's eldest son Brian is a spring 2013 graduate of Concordia Theological Seminary and is serving as a teaching assistant in the department of Systematic Theology. Brian lives in Fort Wayne with his wife Jennifer and their son Jason. Brian hopes to receive a call into the Pastoral ministry in the spring of 2014. Pastor's middle child, Paul, is a medical doctor and a graduate of I.U. School of Medicine. Paul and his wife Ashley live in Iowa City where Paul works as a resident at the University of Iowa hospital. Paul and Ashley will be moving home to Indy in the summer of 2014 where Paul will serve a fellowship through Indiana University.
