It can be hard to see God’s grace in the Genesis 3. Sin and death are now at work in the world. God has given out punishments to Adam, Eve, and the Devil. In Genesis 3:15 we see the first mention of God’s plan of redemption. However, we later see a great act of mercy.Adam and Eve are driven out of the Garden of Eden which contains both the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil and the Tree of Life. In God’s mercy, He rescued Adam and Eve from living in sin forever. He did this by being sure they wouldn’t have to live forever in this no longer perfect world. He also sent a Redeemer for Adam, Eve, and us. We don’t have to live in this world full of brokenness, sickness, and death forever. Instead, Jesus came to save us from our sins so we can live forever in heaven where there will be no more brokenness, sickness, sin or death.
