Romans 6:23 states, “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Sin and death ultimately entered the world when Adam and Eve disobeyed God and ate from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Yet, through death Christ conquers death. It no longer has power over Jesus or those who believe Jesus died on the cross to take away their sins. Christ lived a perfect life free from sin, but he chose to die so he could be the one sacrifice for all times, places, and peoples. Through His death, we have life.
