Psalm 20 is a bold invitation to trust in the one true God.
God’s help comes from his presence. In the psalmist, David’s time, that was from the temple on Mt. Zion. For us Christians, we look for God’s presence in the body of Jesus who is Immanuel, “God with us”.
Our sinful flesh desires only earthly and temporary things. But the Holy Spirit guides us to desire that which is eternal.
Some trust in horses or chariots, or presidents or armies, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. That name has been made known to us: The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Our king, Jesus, has risen and stands upright. He promises the same for us.
