Perhaps the most unique and useful lesson the Psalms teach us is how to lament.
Life does not always go well for us. Often it is quite the opposite. Jesus did not promise us great earthly blessings and treasures. Rather, he taught us that to follow him is to take up our own cross and suffering (Matt. 16: 24-26).
We should call out to our God in our times of suffering. Pray for the salvation and deliverance he has promised us through Jesus!
Recall then what God has already done for us. Namely, that he sent his son Jesus, the very face of God, to suffer with and for us.
We are to pray without ceasing (1 Thess. 5:16-18). This includes praying when we are suffering. Especially cry out to God when you are struggling in your faith; it is the most faithful thing you can do!
Our Father hears our prayers and will provide for us, no matter what we endure in this world.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
