Welcome to Concordia Greenwood

Jesus said, "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick."

We gather here as sinners to receive the medicine of God's grace and mercy.

Special Offerings and Collections (9/23/2025)

Everyone is so generous with the gifts God has given them. We have a few special collections coming in October, November, and December. We know there will be a lot of questions; so here is a list of current and upcoming new collections:

Seminarian Corrie Steel money collection October 5th only during Bible class. During Vacation Bible School this year, our VBS kids collected an offering for the Steel family and Jacobson family. Both of these families are from Australia and are now attending the LCMS seminaries in North America to learn to be pastors. They intend to return to Australia. It’s a blessing that Pastor Scheltens knows Seminarian Steel. Seminarian Steel will visit our church on October 5th and during Bible Study he will talk about what is going on in the Lutheran church in Australia. We will take up a special offering for him and his family during Bible Study.

Gift cards for Fort Wayne seminarians until October 26 for their Christmas Party. These should be smaller gift cards ($10, $20, $25) so more seminarians can benefit from the cards. These should be gift cards to big name stores and restaurants that could potentially be used around the country. Most of the men who attend the seminarian are sacrificing a lot to become a pastor. The gift cards they receive at Christmas are extra special to them and help support them and their families.

Treats for kids and shut ins until October 26. If you would like to bring in individually wrapped treats for kids or cards for shut ins, you can bring them in and place them in backs we have on top of the collection cubes in the Noah Room. We are NOT hosting a truck or treat this year, so this would be a way to share joy with our shut ins and kids in our congregation.

Preschool Trick or Treating will take place on October 30th and 31st this year from 9am-9:30am. Congregation members and parents can gather at 9am at church and we’ll have donuts and coffee available. Kids will come over around 9:20am and trick or treat among the “trail” we set up. We have 10 kids in our PreK class (Oct 30) and 10 kids in our 3’s class (Oct 31). If you would like to participate, please bring individually wrapped treats or talk to Sarah Shadday and she will provide something for you to give to the children.

Christmas Cards until November 16th for Chloe Munoz (Owen) who is being deployed. The collection is in one of the gray cubes in the Noah Room. The Owen family will mail the cards to Chloe.

Thanksgiving Basket for the Angel Tree Families. In November, we provide Thanksgiving meals for 2 families from Northeast Elementary. Collection will be in the lobby.

Angel Tree gifts in December for the same families from Northeast Elementary. Collection will be in the lobby.

Christmas cards for shut ins, we will start collecting them on November 30th and end the collecting on December 14th. Collection location is to be determined.
